Don Broco, The Pigeon Detectives and more added to Kendal Calling 2019

Kendal Calling just got a whole lot rockier!

Don Broco, The Pigeon Detectives and Reverend & The Makers lead the latest additions to Kendall Calling 2019.

The festival returns to the Lake District at Lowther Deer Park between July 25 and July 28, and will also see Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess and up-and-coming stars Average Sex, Low Island, PEANESS, Black Futures perform across the four days.

Welsh legends Manic Street Preachers were previously confirmed as headliners, along with Nile Rodgers & Chic, Courteeners, Doves and Orbital.

'Not Nineteen Forever' rockers the Courteeners will make their debut at the festival, and will no doubt deliver fan favourites from their back catalogue, including tunes from their 2008 breakthrough album 'St. Jude'.

Manchester's Doves are also returning to Kendal, almost a decade after their last appearance in 2010.

Since then the band has been on a long hiatus, but after a fan petition was launched last year to encourage them to reform, the 'Push Me Down' group will mark their return to the stage with what is set to be a show-stopping headline set.

Manic Street Preachers are also returning after performing at the event two years ago, along with techno pioneers Orbital, who will deliver a "multi-sensory treat" for fans.

The festival's director, Andy Smith commented: "We're thrilled to be heading into our 14th year with no less than five headliners! From anticipated headline slots, to Kendal Calling favourites, legendary sing-along dance anthems & spotlight spectacles, this year's line-up is one of our most diverse yet, allowing us to bring huge headliners to the fields of Cumbria, as well as exciting female fronted-bands, and shining new stars, amongst the rest of the magic that is sprinkled across the festival site, from art installations, to comedy, cabaret, gourmet food, real ale and so much more!"

Also on the stacked bill are the likes of Sir Tom Jones, Years & Years, Gerry Cinnamon, Miles Kane, The Fratellis, Gomez, KT Tunstall, Mystery Jets, The Subways and Nina Nesbitt.
