Fresh from making their live debut at Teddy Rocks Festival in May alongside the likes of Louis Berry, Indoor Pets and King Nun, Southampton four-piece wavebye have announced their debut EP 'sugar'.
The six-track mini album is released on July 29th and features the songs 'everything', title track and lead single 'sugar', 'bodyheat,' 'you think I don’t know', 'this is love' and recent single 'show me'.
Frontman Finlay Male teases: “The 'sugar' EP is a deluge of emotion we have been bottling up for over a year, and its release fills us with the biggest sense of pride.’”
Giving fans a taste of their addictive sweet melodies and power emo lyrics - reminiscent of old school bands Circa Survive and Yellowcard - the pop rock group have released the music video for latest single 'show me', which you can check out below:
Following their Teddy Rocks show, the band have supported HALFNOISE in their hometown of Southampton and joined alt/rockers Chapter & Verse at London’s Thousand Island.
They also played with Miss Vincent at Southampton’s iconic Joiners venue, and they are set to perform at Burn It Down Festival in Torquay, Devon on August 31.
wavebye were previously known as Faux before announcing their new name this year.
Speaking about their transition from Faux to wavebye, Finlay explained: "We started the band Faux as a group of friends writing emo/pop-rock with the simple goal of having fun while feeling creatively content.
"Our years together formed a strong passion and belief in our ability to create a unique sound that we feel was no longer fairly represented by Faux and our name should evolve with us.”
