Album Review: Olly Murs - You Know I Know ⋆⋆⋆

"Predictably Murs."

Olly Murs - the nation's favourite cheeky chappy - is back with his first album in two years, 'You Know I Know', comprised of two halves; 14 brand new tracks and a collection of his greatest hits.

When we first heard Olly was teaming up with Snoop Dogg on the lead single, 'Moves', we pictured a very cheesy music video - and they certainly delivered just that.

The playful number is exactly what you'd expect from Mr. Murs.

It's very tongue-in-cheek like Maroon 5's 'Moves Like Jagger', which was co-written by Ammar Malik, who penned ‘Moves’ with Ed Sheeran and a team of songwriters.

The new songs are predictably Murs, with his standout moment the Nile Rodgers-featuring 'Feel The Same'.

The funky beat brings out the rich, soulful tones to Olly's voice.

There's also an appearance from 'It Wasn't Me' hitmaker Shaggy on the album's title track, but after the release of the Jamaican star's joint LP with rocker Sting, there is nothing unusual about this pairing. Olly and Shaggy are very much two peas in a pod, natural entertainers at heart.

The former 'X Factor' star and 'The Voice UK' judge has delivered a fun-loving bunch of tracks with one dilemma; we could have done with the album over the summer to bop along to whilst sitting on a giant inflatable flamingo, sipping on a cocktail in the pool in Zante.

Oh well, there's always next year!

'You Know I Know' is released on RCA Records on November 9.
