BASE Hologram and the Estate of Whitney E. Houston have today (20.01.20) given fans all over the world the first sneak peek behind the scenes of ‘An Evening With Whitney’ - the first-ever Whitney Houston hologram tour.
The production will see a digitalised version of the late star - who passed away in 2012 at the age of 48 - perform with a live band and back-up dancers and is helmed by Fatima Robinson, who has choreographed events and music videos for the likes of Rihanna, Kanye West, and Mary J. Blige.
Here's a BTS video of the auditions in Los Angeles:
Robinson - who worked on the set of the late star's promo for the iconic hit ‘I’m Every Woman’ - has teased that fans can expect a "magic" theatrical experience.
The director said: “There is only one Whitney.
"No one will ever have that voice.
"Her music touched every generation.
"We’re going to take some movie magic and add it into our live performance.
It’s going to be incredible.”
Bian Becker, Chairman & CEO, BASE Entertainment and BASE Hologram - who also run the 'Roy Orbison & Buddy Holly: The Rock ‘N’ Roll Dream Tour' - added: “Whitney Houston was a talent beyond words, and her influence and artistry transcended all boundaries.
“What we are creating here is a new type of theatrical concert experience designed to capture that magic.
"When she performed there was an unmatched level of charisma and emotion to it - that’s what we are going to bring to audiences and it’s an honor to be able to help add to her legacy with this project.”
The tour begins at Sheffield City Hall on February 25, and wraps at Hammersmith's Eventim Apollo on March 10.
Gig-goers can expect all of Whitney's classics, including I Will Always Love You', 'I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)', and 'Higher Love'.
