Say hello to your new favourite pop rock band... wavebye

Southampton four-piece wavebye, who used to be known as Faux, have released their debut single 'Sugar' - and it's as addictive as the title suggests.

Laden with sweet melodies, power emo lyrics and one hell of a catchy chorus, it will be ringing in your head all-day-long.

Speaking about their transition from Faux to wavebye, frontman Finlay Male said: "We started the band Faux as a group of friends writing emo/pop-rock with the simple goal of having fun while feeling creatively content. Our years together formed a strong passion and belief in our ability to create a unique sound that we feel was no longer fairly represented by Faux and our name should evolve with us.”

The band make their London debut supporting alternative rockers Chapter & Verse at Thousand Island on May 16.

wavebye - who are completed by Daly George (guitar & vocals), James Cross (drums) and Jordan Mattingley (guitar) - will also play Teddy Rocks Festival on May 5 on a bill featuring the likes of Louis Berry, Indoor Pets and King Nun.

Other dates include The Pipeline in Brighton on June 8, Salisbury’s Feel Good Social Takeover on June 22 , and Burn It Down Festival in Torquay on August 31.
