Zoe Wees' golden vocals shine on powerful new single 'Ghost'

With vocals to match her influences, Jessie J and Lewis Capaldi, Zoe Wees is Germany's hottest new talent.

Not many artists can say they've performed on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' with just two tracks to their name, but with an international hit already under her belt with 'Control', and the equally as impressive, 'Girls Like Us', the 18-year-old pop star did just that last week.

Now, she's back with her breathtaking new single, 'Ghost', taken from her upcoming debut EP, 'Golden Wings', which is released on May 21.

Speaking about the release of 'Ghost', Wees said: “This song was written about letting someone get too close, even if you know they can hurt you. It’s about the feeling of being vulnerable to that person in a way that could basically destroy your life. It was also written in one of my first writing sessions so it feels special to release it.”

On 'Golden Wings', she added: “Each of the songs are autobiographical and very special to me. In a way‚ the EP was written as personal therapy, with each track helping tackle my own mental health. I chose the title “Golden Wings” to symbolize the feeling of ‘security and strength.’ These two things are foundations from where hope can grow. I hope people can relate to my stories in their own way.”

A relatable artist, who is not afraid to wear her heart on her sleeve, Wees has the kind of star quality that could see her follow a similar trajectory to the likes of Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo.

The full track-listing for 'Golden Wings' is as follows:

1. 'Control'
